From after reading and experiencing, I got to real connect myself with Alex. His stories and reality contributes to what I see in today's society. As him being a detective and explaining his day to day work environment, his descriptions of the crimes are very similar to the news I hear. I can;t wait to finish the book and get to see how Alex becomes at the end of the book and if he lets his emotions get the best of him even more.

Brandon Cruz Author Study James Paterson #2
My author is very unique as to the way he writes. So far in I, Alex Cross I got to the suspense part. His character starts to change. Alex starts to be very dynamic and change. His emotions get the best of him and transitions to a whole new person. The way James Paterson formats this book to make him dynamic is very interesting. He gets deep into Alex's feelings and I get to really experience a real life affect of certain tragedy's that I've seen.

Edjwena J's Author Study of Sharon J. Flake
The reason why I chose Sharon G. Flake for my author study is because when I moved here to Pennsylvania, my ESL teacher Mrs. Irwin recommended the book to me and the first book I read was called Money Hungry and I loved it the way the book was written it was the perfect writing for me to stay interested. The book was about this young girl who lived in a very harsh environment, and although her life was not so perfect she figured things out helped her mom out and did the best she could possibly do to help out.
I’m not into classic novel and Shakespeare’s writing I like realistic things, stories that are based for real events and makes sense, like for example I love “Diary of a Wimpy kid” but , since I’m a senior I have to read a higher level book so when I found her ,life had meaning, and I found a book that I was interested in.

Alex's Author Study on Jim DeFelic
I picked Jim DeFelic because he wrote the book on Chris Kyle. The book is called American Sniper. I went to the movies to see the movie American Sniper and fell in love with the movie. After the movies I found out there was a book and people always say that books are always better than movies. That is why I picked Jim DeFelic.
Drew Gibbel: Author Study on Jon Krakauer
Jon Krakauer writes about a story that happened to himself in the nonfiction story Into Thin Air. He is the character I'm writing about because of his bravery and strong willed behaviors. The story Into Thin Air is about his adventures up Mt. Everest as he conquers the tallest mountain peak on the planet. He used to be a climber and had ventured up numerous mountains in his life. Never had he attempted a climb like this, especially because he is 50 years old.
Being that the story is told from Jon's prospective, you can clearly see his character traits and everything that makes him a full minded individual. He is a strong man, mentally and physically. I would say that most of his strength comes in the mental form. He, after all, is an older gentle man. Fifty years old is not that old for a man, but for a mountain climber, it is pretty old.

Daniella Angelo: Author Study Character
The character I chose from Someone Like You is Macon Faulkner. This character had a really sketchy personality which is why I chose him. He keeps his life excluded from everyone, but is very extroverted. His parents are divorced so he's supposed to be living with his mom, but he lives with his other friends instead but he never said who. He always goes to party's, does drugs, many have anger problems or issues that he hasn't worked out, and keeps his life very hidden from his girlfriend. They never exactly said why he keeps his personal life secluded, but I think it may be because it seems like he had a messed up childhood and his mom may be a drug addict/alcoholic. His character caught my attention because not everyone is the person they may seem. In school, he leads a very different life: popular, outgoing, loved by many. But when he's outside of school, he is a whole different person. He is significant in the story line because he is dating the main character and he somewhat changes her as well.
Marina E's Author Study on Sarah Dessen
I selected this author because I've heard a lot of good things about her writing, and books. I am highly interested to know if Sarah Dessen's writing has to do with events that have happened in her actual life? because her books are mainly about love and other things like death. Or why she writes about emotional aspects of life? it makes me think about what i would do if i were to be in some type of situation like that

Dillon Kramer Author Study on Ellen Hopkins
I chose to read works by Ellen Hopkins for multiple reasons. I began to read her first book Crank after she came to visit our school two years ago. She visited and I filmed her visit for TV Productions. I got the chance to interview her and ask some questions about the true story behind her book. At that time, I haven't read any of her books. After I filmed her visit I really wanted to read some of her works. I began to read her first book last year and loved it. It was one of my favorite reads in a while. After I finished Crank I went on to read other authors. I thought that Ellen didn't write a sequel to Crank but as we were looking for author study books I found the sequel and knew that I would love it. I am almost finished with the second book, Glass which is part of a trilogy. Once I am finished with it I am going to read the third and final book, Fallout.
