Claudio M: author study on Michael Grant

I have never read a book from Michael Grant so that is part of the reason as to why I picked him. Another reason I picked him is because when I walked passed the book, the cover caught my attention right away and I liked the summary of what the book is about. I would like to know if all of his books are about good vs evil. I would like to know if there is always violence in his books. Later on in the book I would like to find out if there is a reason he does good vs evil or how different he uses good vs evil.

  1. In Bzrk a character that has caught my attention is Vincent. He is a spy that has been in many missions during his career. Now he is helping Noah to defeat the evil villain called Bug Man. He suffers from a rare disorder called anhedonia, an inability to experience pleasure. Due to the disorder it is what makes him an excellent spy. He can get away with anything, when he is in a mission he is able to cause no suspicion because he has no emotion. He basically knows everything there is to know about Bug Man because this is not the first time that he is dealing with him. He has just noticed that Bug Man has targeted Noah's family for some reason and now Vincent wants to help Noah defeat Bug Man. I Just think that Vincent is an interesting character that is a big part of the story line. I think that he is significant because I feel like he is going to be a big part of the story and a main key to defeating Bug Man.

  2. For this project I would like to do my visual using a pamphlet. I believe that this way would be a great way to explain what my author does in his writings. It is also a good and creative way to express my ideas. This is the first time that I have read a book by Michael Grant and he has done a great job in keeping me interested in the book. He introduces a lot of different characters that do little parts in the book to help main characters. Also at the same time he does a good job in taking those little characters out of the story and also with some big characters that might have died.

  3. In BZRK I really like Michael Grant's style of writing. He does a good job using a lot of description in his writing. When I am reading it feels like I am actually in the story because of how well he describes everything in the book. Also he does not just stay focused on one character. He does a real good job at changing the point of view in the story to a different character. Grant will go to 3 or 4 different characters and talk about what is going on in their part of the story. His type of writing in this book creates a lot of different moods just because he does a good job at having all the characters in the mix of the story.

  4. My plans for development of my author study visual will be poster. I am picking a poster to be my visual because it is a good way to spread out all of my ideas about my author and also add pictures. A poster is also a good way for my audience to be able to see and read my information. The poster will display my working questions and from there all of the information that i have gathered from the books i have read and information from the internet will branch off of it.

  5. One big con about this author study assignment is that I am not a real big fan about reading. It was really tough to do this project because since I do not read a lot I did not stay on track with my readings and I would always zone out while reading.
This author study helped me to understand and comprehend the books that I was reading. Also by doing these blog posts it helped me to better understand the book that I was reading. I was able to organize a good poster with all my ideas about my author and my thesis and was able to answer the question. I hope that this project will help me become a better reader.
